to enhancing athletic performance.
Founded by a sports dietitian and former DI athlete, The Performance Collective supports athletes in all complexities of training—nutrition, recovery, and injury prevention. We partner with sports physicians, sports psychologists, mental performance specialists, and other healthcare professionals to treat the athlete as a whole, versus a siloed aspect of their training.
Improve performance.
Enhance recovery.
Reduce risk of injury.
The Performance Collective supports developing athletes, parents, and athletic departments to uncover the missing gap of training: performance nutrition. We navigate hydration strategies, pre- and post-workout fuel strategies, nutrient timing, and championship fueling to instill confidence in each student and improve their athletic performance. Built on mutual trust, a deeply competitive spirit, and an against-the-grain approach, we seek to extend the longevity of our athletes’ competitive careers.

ONE-ON-ONE
Improve individual performance.
We start every athlete relationship with an evaluation, learning their struggles, fueling habits, and goals. We put together a customized fueling plan divided into foundational and championship strategies, meeting regularly for three months or more.

Build a stronger community.
We work with teams, clubs, and athletic departments to support the fueling needs of your athletes. Each multi-channel plan is tailored to your budget, education needs, and environment to best support your program.
Our definition of success extends beyond the finish line.
We’re competitive by nature, and love to see our athletes win—a win that might not be measured in points earned or times shaved. To date, The Performance Collective has celebrated athletes improving their quality of sleep, increasing their attention in class, improving their digestion, and:
Experiencing an increase in energy.
Allowing a male athlete to fuel properly before state track, winning the 200 meters as a freshman.
Developing confidence in the ability to compete.
Leading a female athlete to hit a sub-17 minute 5K, set a state record, and land a DI scholarship.
Seeing an improved relationship with food.
Giving a female 13-year-old athlete the confidence to eat a donut in training season—removing the term “bad foods” from her vernacular.
All I was told was calories in versus calories out—and my entire body broke.
– ELLEN DAVIS, RD, CSSD, LD
Founder Ellen Davis grew up on a farm in Iowa, where nutrition was an inherent part of daily life. A four-sport athlete, she hit times in track and field that landed her in the Iowa Hall of Fame and earned a DI scholarship to The University of Missouri. The expectation? To experience the same success achieved in high school. The reality? Within four weeks, she was diagnosed with a stress fracture—the first of five throughout her collegiate career. Switching her major to dietetics, Ellen found the value in fuel and recovery. Today, she dedicates her career to helping student athletes overcome similar challenges to those she once faced.
